Mom Left 5-Year-Old Kids Alone In Hotel Room With Open Alcohol Bottles, PWC Police Say

A 36-year-old woman was arrested on child neglect charges after police said she left her two 5-year-old children alone in a Virginia hotel room while she drank.

A 5-year-old boy was found on the second floor of the Red Roof Inn in Dumfries around 2:40 a.m. Friday, April 14, Prince William County police said.

While investigating the incident, officers found the boy left the room just before police arrived at the hotel. When they brought him back to his room, they found his 5-year-old sister.

Eventually, officers found the children’s mom, Monise Shante Robinson, who was not at the hotel, authorities said. Robinson returned to the hotel and was arrested without incident.

Further investigation found multiple open alcohol containers inside the room, and the balcony door was open. The children were unharmed and turned over to a family member.

Robinson was charged with two counts of child neglect and was being held without bond.
